Though very strict on principles as a man of integrity, Dr. Amaowoh is known for possessing a very high sense of humour even during preaching which usually keeps his audience alive throughout the session. He is known for his loyalty and love for God and the Church, a Philanthropist and generous giver who has touched many lives and developed Churches to the glory of God.

For about five years now, Dr. Amaowoh has been preaching every Sunday on the social media under the platform of “Alive in Christ Pulpit”. The messages which are being compiled into books have been a blessing to millions of people all over the world. He is the epitome of versatility in the Ministry which is worthy of emulation by every Minister of the Gospel. His simplicity, amiability, teachableness, accessibility, humility and love for fellow men are among the social and Spiritual qualities that have endeared him to many people. Dr. Godwin Amaowoh, who has won several Leadership awards, is greatly celebrated by the people of his community for his enormous contributions to its development. He is an amazing gift to the Church.

While working with the Ministry of Education, Itu, as a young School Leaver, Godwin Amaowoh came in contact with the Assemblies of God Church, Ntiat Itam, where he gave his life to Christ in May 1980, under the Rev. Effiong Ekpe as his first Pastor. He was baptized in water on 28th December, 1980 and received into full membership in the same Local Church on 28th June, 1981. He was baptized in the Holy Spirit on 22nd November, 1982 during his personal morning devotion while on Teaching Practice at Mary Knoll College, Ogoja. After his NYSC programme in 1984, Godwin Amaowoh was trying to enlist in the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Security Organization (NSO, now DSS) but on 24th December, 1984 the Lord called him very clearly to go and declare His faithfulness, “Go and declare my faithfulness”. While preparing to go to Rivers State in response to the teaching appointment given to him, the Lord said to him, “Lend unto me your certificates and I will bless you”. Again, the Lord told him, “Go and prepare my people for Heaven where you will also enter”. God also told him about the importance of absolute surrender in obedience to God’s will. This is why he has never protested against transfer or lobbied or campaigned for any type of office since he came into the Ministry in 1989, after resigning not only from his pensionable job in Rivers State, but also from all that he had dreamed to become in life as a brilliant and hardworking scholar. Before becoming a Professional Teacher, young Godwin had dreamed of becoming a Medical Doctor, Quantity Surveyor, a Soccer Player (Goal keeping), a Journalist, a Politician or a University Professor. Initially, he was a science student but had to switch over to art and social science subjects in the final year of his Secondary School because the science laboratories were not yet approved by WAEC.  In any case, Dr. Amaowoh who is an ardent soul winner, Church builder and astute leader and administrator, a Tupocrat, has found satisfaction and fulfillment in life through the Ministry. Dr. Amaowoh is a member of the Advisory Board of Fathers in Faith for Good Governance, Akwa Ibom.
